The end of CMJ seems like the perfect excuse to bring back the Bored On Sunday column and discuss the best bands we've all discovered at music festivals. Despite most festivals having incredible lineups, with hundreds (if not thousands) of artists playing, there are always a few performances that stand out. They're often not the most popular shows, the most attended, or the most talked about, but they are what stand out to you and me... and what make the festival experience so memorable.

Today, we are excited to announce that in addition to the Topshelf Records showcase on October 19, we will be sponsoring Run For Cover Records' CMJ Showcase on Saturday, October 20 in Brooklyn, NY. The showcase begins at noon and runs until 6 p.m., and will feature Tigers Jaw, Koji, Turnover, Pity Sex, Young Statues, Ghost Thrower and one special guest which hasn't been announced yet. A Facebook event page can be seen here (RSVP if you're gonna go!) and tickets can be purchased here. Photo Finish Records' CMJ showcase will take place on October 23rd at The Knitting Factory in New York City, and will feature Anthony Green, 3OH!3, Envy on the Coast, Recover (reunion show), The Friday Night Boys, and Fighting With Wire. Photo Finish will be selling signed limited edition 24" x 36" CMJ posters, similar to the 2008 SXSW posters that are currently available at the Photo Finish webstore. Only 250 tickets will be available to the public, and tickets go on sale this Saturday 9/20 at 12PM EST. You can purchase the tickets here.
