Former Cro-Mags bassist Harley Flanagan has opened up about the recent incident in which he stabbed the band's current bassist. He alleges that he acted in self defense.

It was like an old fashion biker beat down, like "BA BABABABABA BA" And at that point everybody started screaming and I saw the door of the dressing room open and I started screaming security, security and I saw somebody pull the door shut to keep security out. And in my mind I thought to myself, "fuck, these dudes' their intention is to fuck me up, they don't want no one to see it they're trying to beat the shit out of me...SO what I did was defend my life...

Tonight's CBGB Festival in New York was shut down after former Cro-Mags bassist Harley Flanagan allegedly stabbed the band's current bassist, Mike Couls. Sources report that another man was also bitten, but both victims are expected to be okay. Flanagan has been taken into police custody.

Harley Flanagan, founding member of the Cro-Mags stumbled into the VIP lounge with a knife. Security mobilized in a hot minute and beat the shit out of him. It took no less than six beefy dudes to control the madness. Blood was everywhere, and bone protruded from his shin.
