The Dillinger Escape Plan are working on their new album. The band have been holed up in various locations "including an underground lair and a house with an interior that resembles the one from fight club" writing the album and intend to release it sometime before 2009.
In the meantime, guitarist Ben Weinman and drummer Chris Pennie will be playing "pre-arranged weirdness and improv" at The Stone, a club operated by avant-garde jazz legend John Zorn, in New York City on October 20th. Pennie will also be teaching a handful of drum clinics in New Jersey and Michigan later this month.
The Dillinger Escape Plan have announced that following the completion of their current touring schedule, they plan to disappear and finish writing new material for their next album which will likely see a release next year. The Dillinger Escape Plan has posted their cover of Soundgarden's "Jesus Christ Pose" on their MySpace profile. The track is taken from the band's upcoming Plagiarism EP, which is due out on June 13th through iTunes.
Details have been revealed for The Dillinger Escape Plan's first retail DVD, which was promised last December. The disc is due out June 27th, 2006 via Relapse Records and promises A collection of behind-the-scenes footage, live clips spanning the worldwide Miss Machine tour, as well as music videos for album tracks "Panasonic Youth," "Setting Fire to Sleeping Giants," and "Unretrofied," among other features.
In June. the band will kick off their summer tour, with dates supporting AFI and their own headlining stops.
