Dropkick Murphys' lead singer Ken Casey has given an interview explaining why the band did not perform at this year's NHL Winter Classic.
Also the reason we didnít play is because the NHL asked us to do a duet with the guy from FUN. And that would not have been fun.

Dropkick Murphys were involved in a fatal car crash yesterday when a pedestrian ran out in front of the band's vehicle in what is believed to be a suicide.
Hello Tulsa fans. We have some tough news Ė we have to cancel tonightís show at Cainís Ballroom.

After last nights San Antonio show we were enroute to the dallas airport to drop off Al and then continue on to Tulsa (as we mentioned yesterday Al is flying home for the funeral of a life long friend)

Sadly however, just north of Austin we were involved in a tragic and fatal accident when a pedestrian suddenly ran onto the highway in front of our tour bus. Police suspect a suicide.

We were left with a driver that has been severely...

I played up until my senior year. I quit because in my junior year I started dealing with some nagging injuries and I wasn't having that much fun. And that's when Jimmy Eat World were getting together and playing. I quit and left the baseball field to practice [with] Jimmy Eat World and haven't played since. I've been [with] Jimmy Eat World for the past 20 years.

Guitarist of the The Dropkick Murphys, Marc Orrell, has confirmed that he is leaving the band.
Marc's AnnouncementYou may have heard some talk that I am going to stop playing with the Dropkick Murphys. I wanted to confirm that the rumors are true and I am leaving the band. I'm very grateful for everything playing with DKM has brought me and I'm sad to be going but I feel like the time has come for me to try working on different styles of music and some of my own projects, I'm ready to spread my wings as they say.

I've been pickin', ticklin', strummin', squeezin', crashin', trashin' and smashin' with the Dropkicks for many years and am proud to have been a part of all the achievements...
