RIAA has named Eminem the first artist to earn two digital single diamond awards.
The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) today awarded Eminem with a Diamond certification in recognition of "Not Afraid" (Aftermath Entertainment/Interscope Records) surpassing the 10 million threshold counting song sales and streams. Eminem also holds an 11X multi-Platinum Digital Single Diamond Award for "Love The Way You Lie" (featuring Rihanna; Aftermath/Interscope), and today became the first artist to earn two RIAA Digital Single Diamond Awards.
"What we look at this opportunity as, is a way to do for battle rapping what UFC did for MMA," Rosenberg tells Rolling Stone. "That's really the model we're basing it on. It's this great thing that a lot of people love, but it's very splintered, and it's very niche, and it's not really brought into the right production levels that it can or should be."
You can stream a new Eminem track titled "Survival" in the replies. The song will appear on his upcoming new album (although it isn't the first single - that will be announced on a later date) as well as the forthcoming game Call of Duty: Ghosts.
Eminem will executive produce Skylar Grey's debut album, Don't Look Down, which is due out in Spring 2013 via KIDinaKORNER/Interscope. The first single, "C'mon Let Me Ride" featuring Eminem, will be released on December 11th.
Eminem's The Eminem Show has been officially certified diamond in the United States of America. Including The Marshall Mathers LP, this makes him the only rap artist with multiple diamond-certified albums.
