The Dark Knight has set the record for biggest box office opening weekend, pulling in $155.34 million.

The Dark Knight is selling out across the country, prompting some theaters to (irregularly) set up 6:00am show times to keep up with customer interest. I have my ticket - do you have yours?
From the Article"The Dark Knight is our fastest selling film in wide release this year," Ted Hong says. "It trumps Iron Man, Sex and the City, Indiana Jones [and] WALL-E at the same point in their sales cycles—and it's even outpacing last year's Spider-Man 3 and Pirates [of the Caribbean: At World's End]."

There's talk of Heath Ledger earning a posthumous Oscar nomination for his role as the Joker in the The Dark Knight.
From the Article'"I do think that Heath has created an iconic villain that will stand for the ages, and of course, I would love to see him get an award," said Christian Bale, who reprises his "Batman Begins" role as the tormented crime fighter. "But you know, to me, you can witness his talent, celebrate his talent within this movie. Anything else is gravy."'

Much to the chagrin of comic fans, Spider-Man's history with his wife of more than twenty years Mary Jane has been erased from memory to keep the character "fresh."
From the Article"We knew it would be a very controversial thing to do," says Joe Quesada, Marvel's editor in chief, who believed so much in the project that he drew the crucial issues himself. "Looking into the future, this is really the right thing to do for the long-term health of the character."

Quesada is steadfast that for Spider-Man, the move is the right one: "Ultimately we have to do this to keep this character fresh for this generation and generations to come."

What this means for each show is hard to say – but most of the news for the TV viewer will likely come in varying degrees of bad. From 'No 24 until 2009' to 'Say...
