1. if you are a fan of this band- please don’t pit us against each other. however you feel about patrick i feel it x a million. that was one of the things that led to us taking time off- we felt as though some of the base and media pit us against each other. were a team. we fight for the user.

2. I’ve had a few people in my timeline bugging out about me not sticking around after shows. last year i got a threat during a post show hang. i don’t feel comfortable or safe sticking around areas...

when we were beginning the journey of making this record we wanted to find some inspirational images. we came across the punk and monk image on the Internet and it really solidified what we were trying to get across on the record- the idea of old and new clashing. tradition and change coming together. there was something striking about it. obviously this is an image that means a lot to many people- we felt like we wanted to be part of this conversation. these kids represent the youth, change and irreverence that we hope our record is listened to with. at the end of the day we just want to take the rules and...

so i was thinking about some of our past features (ones that stuck with me): jay-z, brendon urie, john mayer (guitar), debbie harry, lil wayne, and elvis costello … the features that we have on save rock and roll will be just as diverse- we are fans of all different kinds of music and the features will reflect that. if anything we have gone farther….

How many people reading this are fans of Nickelback? How about Dane Cook? Now, I can safely assume that, unless this blog gets reposted on a site dedicated to those respective artists, those questions would be met with tumbleweeds and the distant sound of crickets. Like Creed or Limp Bizkit or the “Dude! You’re getting a Dell!” kid, they’ve become ubiquitously hate-able. I would not be exaggerating to state I’ve simply never heard someone admit to liking them.

Why is that? Now, I’m not saying I like them. Like you (fellow pop culture spectator) I am honor-bound by the unspoken law ...

"One of the cool things about coming back was that we decided everyone has to be in on every idea, or else it's out. We did ten songs [for the album], maybe there will be eleven songs on there," he said. "We have other cool ideas, but we're definitely not in that part of being in a band where you're like 'Oh, well, this dude likes this song, so I guess we'll put it on the album, and we'll probably never play it and nobody will care about it.' ... “There are going to be a couple of guests,” singer Patrick Stump said, opting to keep his lips sealed on the specifics. “I think we're going to keep mum about it for now.” Bassist Pete Wentz explained that though they’ve finished their album, there’s still some paperwork and signatures that have to be signed before clearing the featured guests. “Those are the last things that we're working out,” Pete said. “I don't think all of the contracts have been signed yet. But I will say that if people are excited about the 2 Chainz idea, there's more exciting stuff.”

So when we got this all rolling we didn’t expect it to be so crazy. But we weren’t kidding when we said we had the album done- so why wait? It means the world to us the way you have welcomed us back. “Save Rock and Roll” now out early, April 15/16 worldwide.

Holy smokes, this has been an amazing week for us. In the past three shows we've done (our first in three years), we've been utterly humbled to see so many familiar faces.

The thing we're not as happy to see is that, along with the most amazing audience in the world, there was also the inevitable return of folks looking to exploit and cheat that audience.
