Fall Out Boy announced they'd be giving more information about the release of the sessions recorded with Ryan Adams on Monday. But, this is the internet, and once shit hits Walmart or Amazon the cat is kinda out of the bag. The information from the online retailers says there will be a physical two disc edition of Save Rock and Roll (Pax Am Edition) that will contain the newly recorded songs on October 15th. According to another reputable source, I've heard there may be a digital release earlier -- around October 8th.

Remember the news about Ryan Adams writing songs with Fall Out Boy? Well, those sessions resulted in some good ol' fashioned Black Flag-influenced hardcore songs.
I think it was an exercise, but I do think it’s definitely the antithesis of Save Rock and Roll. Kids can say whatever, like, “Oh, where’s the guitars if you’re gonna call it Save Rock and Roll?” And there was a part of us that really wanted to withhold that. Rock and Roll needs to be challenged right now. The most Rock and Roll thing you could do is do what, like, Skrillex is doing right now. It felt good to get in there and make some noise that was what people would have thought of as standard “Rock and Roll.”

Read an interview with producer Sean O'Keefe in the replies, in which he talks about recording the first tracks from Take This To Your Grave and recording Plain White T's "Hey There, Delilah."
Those recordings and mixes ended up getting Fall Out Boy their record deal. They went on the record as-is and ended up becoming the singles too.

The playing of “My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark” by Fall Out Boy during fireworks at the Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival has fueled a 'debate'.
“When we arrived back at the hotel, we looked up the lyrics to see if it was really as bad as it sounds — and it was far worse," he said. "A song about murdering people, tying them up and burning them alive, and general violence."

One day after I poke fun at BOTDF for their "meet the band" packages in their merch store, Fall Out Boy rolls out a similar package for their Overcast Kids fan club. I still think these are an odd new addition to a band's "merch" bag of tricks.
Starting tomorrow, Thursday, August 1st at Noon EDT, Overcast Kids will have access to purchase a specially priced and limited Meet & Greet Ticketless Bundle. These bundles are available for each date of the Save Rock and Roll Fall Arena Tour 2013 and they will only be available via the Fall Out Boy packages page. These packages will be available exclusively to OCK through Monday, August 5th at Noon EDT when, pending sellout, they will open to...

Pete Wentz has confirmed to Rolling Stone that Fall Out Boy recorded 8-9 songs with Ryan Adams.
Now, Pete Wentz reveals to Rolling Stone they recorded "eight or nine" songs over two marathon nights, with Adams directing the sessions. "It was punk rock – the stuff that makes you want to kick the shit out of your bedroom at your parents' house," says Wentz. "It's impossible to deny the spirit of what was happening there." The session came together through Butch Walker, their mutual friend and collaborator. Wentz says he was thrilled with working with Adams: "I used to like listen to his stuff growing up!"

Fall Out Boy's Joe Trohman recently sat down with MusicRadar.
"A couple of days later, I was talking to Patrick, and I had already prepared a list of stipulations for me to do the band again, and before I could even say them, he already had my list in his head. He kind of disarmed me. After a very long phone call – I kept looking at the phone, which was edging on the three-hour mark – I was like, 'Yeah, I'm in. Let's do it.' And then I started writing heavily after I hung up."

Joe Trohman from Fall Out Boy has posted a blog about his history with shows and what perplexes him about shows, and fan expectations, today.
There has been a considerable amount of chatter lately from some Fall Out Boy fans in regard to what we, as a band, do with our time after we play a show for you guys. Certain folks feel entitled to certain things. What is expected out of us, past a great rock show, seems to perplex me.

Patrick Stump wrote a blog reflecting on the 10th anniversary of Fall Out Boy's Take This to Your Grave.
Ten years ago today, my band released our debut album Take This To Your Grave. We were just four unsuspecting Midwestern nerds named after a moderately obscure Simpsons character, living life like the background characters in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. We were totally unprepared for everything that followed.

Up to that point in the band’s history, we were merely something to do before we were forced to give in to the pressures of real life. We saw ourselves as a pretty cool excuse for a semester off of college. My accountant mother was also the ex-wife of a musician (my dad in point...
