From HitsDailyDouble: [The Format]'s buzz out in the Southwest led to quite the label derby a few years ago, eventually resulting in a deal with Elektra. The band transitioned to Atlantic after Elektra folded, but was dropped last year. Now a free agent, The Format recently released a new album titled Dog Problems on their own and have sold over 18k to date, moving north of 5k just last week. But more importantly, they’re the first band to sell an album on their MySpace page in a new initiative utilizing Snocap’s Linx online sales application. Song files can be purchased using Paypal at 79 cents a pop and are offered in the MP3 format, meaning they can be played on any media player....
Brandon Mullins (vocalist) of Across Five Aprils recently sat down to answer some of yours and my questions. The band's new album Collapse came out yesterday. Find out why poetry is for hippies, here.
Across Five Aprils made a trailer for their "Let's Whisper" video. Check it out here and pay particular attention to the guy on the bike. He's going to be big, Kel Mitchell big.

Hey people - I just posted my mini-review for Run Doris Run's EP, Five More Songs and You Can Go Home. I am currently experimenting with the shorter review format with less notable releases to get more fresh content up here, so tell me what you think of it. The idea would be to post 2-3 of these at a time if everyone likes the idea. Thanks for the feedback!
Across Five Aprils has posted a new song on their Myspace page called "Tallahassee Is For Hookers." The song is taken from their forthcoming full length to be released on Indianola Records.

You can now download an exclusive EP of David Bowie and The Arcade Fire performing at this year's Fashion Rocks concert on iTunes. The EP contains their collaborations on Bowie's "Five Years" (my favorite song of all time) and The Arcade Fire's "Wake Up." It also has a bonus mp3 of Bowie performing "Life On Mars?" The EP is under $3 and all of the proceeds go to Katrina relief efforts, so please buy this instead of downloading it illegally. Rumor has it that it will be available this week only, so act soon!
