Foo Fighters have been pegged to perform on Saturday Night Live on October 13th. The group are currently preparing for the release of their latest, full-length effort, Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace, which is slated for release on September 25th via Sony Music.

Dave Grohl has finally opened up and talked about Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love, saying the band has a song on their new record about the couple.

Radio 1 will be releasing a compilation of covers next month to celebrate the station's 40 years. Included on the disc will be the Foo Fighters covering Wings' "Band on the Run" and The Fratellis covering Jimi Hendrix's "All Along the Watchtower." The full tracklist is in the replies.

Coheed and Cambria has recruited Taylor Hawkins of The Foo Fighters to play drums on their new album; former drummer Josh Eppard parted ways with the band late last year. The band is currently recording No World For Tomorrow with producer Nick Raskulinecz; the album is expected to be released this Fall.

The Foo Fighters have re-signed with RCA Records and will be hitting the studio with Gil Norton shortly.
