An informative interview with Justin Beck from Glassjaw has been posted at Alter the Press that details their new album, why they don't play certain songs, and much more.
From the InterviewAs far as he is concerned, he has done his part as he explains. October 1st 2007, Beck worked re-worked his busy schedule and put his life on hold so he could get a new record done. Manuel Carrero (bass) and Durijah Lang (drums) where on hand and completed their parts of the new record. Vocalist Daryl Palumbo had been in and recorded his vocals to the music on five songs.

Tommy Corrigan has posted an update about Glassjaw's new record.
From GlassJaw.netHi, my name is tom. here are my glassjaw credentials: I currently work every day 2 feet from justin beck. i have worked with the dude here at merchdirect for going on 8 years. daryl palumbo played bass briefly in my old band silent majority. i have known daryl and beck since they were 13 or 14. i am the glassjaw "ski mask" guy seen on alot of merch. i am "grasper."

with that out of the way.

i for the most part heard a complete glassjaw
cd LAST winter

it had a latin/spanish music feel to some songs
it had some nice grooves
kinda like a massive attack thing going on in some parts

Manny of Glassjaw has no idea what's going on with the band's new album, according to a post from him on the glassjaw.net forum (post #33).
Manny SpeaksHey guys. I just saw this thread just now. I haven't been here as often as I used to be. I feel like a kid that's been asked to clean his room, but the room still isn't clean, and every time the kid peeks out of the room, he is immediately asked if it's finished. (And I've already cleaned my section of the room.)

I wish I had an answer for everyone, but I am pretty much in the dark. I mean, let's be frank, here. I just play the bass. I have no delusions about my role. I have no control of what happens with the band.

I would love to tell...

The limited edition version of United Nations' self-titled album will ship this week. Eyeball Records had this to say about the situation.
StatementDue to production issues, the Limited Edition of the United Nations record will ship this week. Since the beginning we have experienced delay after delay, issue after issue. We are glad to finally be getting these copies in-hand and we will ship them out as soon as they come to our office. xoxox

MTV has written an informative article about how United Nations' new album may not be able to be sold in stores due to copyright issues. There is also great discussion on the ideals behind the band and the response from their myspace feature.
From the Article"To me, it was like, maybe speaking sincerely about things isn't enough to make people pay attention. Maybe you have to make fun of people — and be a mirror — to show them how stupid they look, to get their attention. That's the idea. Punk is just way too safe these days, so we're hoping by making some audacious claims and doing some strange things and breaking a few laws, we can get people to think at least. It's the idea that...

Did you say, "I wouldn't call myself a critic, per se, but in my immediate peer group I'm known to be 'in the know.' As a matter of fact, I think you'd be hard pressed to find someone with a record collection that's half as good as mine. And seriously, that dude just can't sing. AUTO-TUNE central... I did intern in a studio, once, not really sure how it's possible for him to be both out of key and Auto-Tuned but whatever, worst singer ever."

United Nations' self-titled release will be available on September 9, 2008 through Eyeball Records. The band, much ballyhooed for its inclusion of members from influential groups Thursday and Glassjaw, is described as "[featuring] prominent members of two bands you love, one band you hate and a few you never heard of." Pre-order the album here.

AltPress recently had the chance to sit down with Daryl Palumbo:
Glassjaw UpdateEarlier today, AP had the pleasure of talking with Head Automatica frontman Daryl Palumbo about the recording of his dance-rock group's upcoming album, and we couldn't let him up off the mat without answering a few questions about his on-again off-again, massively influential post-hardcore group Glassjaw.

Manny [Carrero, bass] is currently in Saves The Day -- I don't know if he's an official member, but he's there; Durijah [lang, drums] is playing in a band; Beck is very busy with his business; and I'm doing the...
