Last night we tried out our first ever "live-blog" while the Grammys were going on. A few beers, a few snarky AP.net staff members, and a pretty amusing time, I thought, for everyone involved. The first batch of Grammy performers have been announced. We'll have an open thread this year where Drew (and probably other staff members) will be talking about this circle jerk. Jason Aldean, Kelly Clarkson, Foo Fighters, Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj, and Taylor Swift are in the first wave of performers announced.

Arcade Fire's The Suburbs has received a Grammy Nomination for Album of the Year.

Kanye West said in a new interview that the Recording Academy's selection of Taylor Swift's last album as Album Of The Year (along with its choice to award that title to works by Dixie Chicks, Ray Charles and Herbie Hancock in recent years) was "inaccurate". Details and video here.

Norma Jean's album, O' God The Aftermath, has been nominated for a grammy for "Best Recording Package". The album will also be re-released with bonus material in February.
