So I received a package from Hopeless Records this morning and in it was a bunch of swag from the bands on their roster. One of the items included was a LP of Yellowcard's new album Southern Air, which I've decided to give away today. How do you win this beautiful 12 inches of wax? It's simple: just like and follow us on our Facebook and Twitter pages (as well as Hopeless' Facebook and Twitter) and tell us what your favorite song is off Southern Air and why (either in this thread, on Twitter, or on Facebook). I'll pick a winner sometime tomorrow. Good luck!

Starting at 5pm (PST) tonight, the staff from Hopeless Records will be hanging out and chatting in this thread. Come on in and see what it's like to work at one of the hottest labels today. Talk about their recent bands, how they find bands to sign, or just what a day in the life looks like for a Hopeless Record employee. I'm sure there's something ya wanna know.

All the label folk will be chatting with blue names. Have fun!

The chat is now over! Huge thank you to the label for doing this with us!
Jason Tate on 04/12/12 - 04:53 PM
At 5pm (PST) tonight we'll have the fine folks from Hopeless Records here to chat on the website. It's definitely going to be a good time, and I wanted to make sure I got my "Thursday Discussion" topic up before it gets too close to the chat. With that in mind, I thought it made sense to pick my top 10 favorite Hopeless Records' releases. While I'm not expecting this one to be quite as giant as the Drive-Thru list, there are some ridiculously awesome albums in the Hopeless catalog.

If you haven't checked these ones out yet - I definitely recommend you do. I included links to streams where appropriate. Feel free to add in your own favorites as well. Oh, and don't forget to come...

Hey everyone, just a reminder that this Thursday at 8 p.m. EST / 5 p.m. PST, a few members of the Hopeless Records team will be chatting with us here on AP.net. We'll have Ian Harrison, Natalie Schaffer and Melissa Becerra from the label's marketing department; Lizzy Welch, Jessie Schroeder and Erin Choi from operations; and Eric Tobin, who is the director of sales and handles A&R. It should be a pretty neat chance to get to talk to everyone on the inside of one of the bigger indie labels in the industry, and I'm told they will be taking pictures of themselves sitting on their computers and chatting with us at Hopeless HQ. If that doesn't convince you to hang out, then I don't know.

We'll have Ian Harrison, Natalie Schaffer and Melissa Becerra from the label's marketing department; Lizzy Welch, Jessie Schroeder and Erin Choi from operations; and Eric Tobin, who is the director of sales and handles A&R. We noticed today that a lot of Hopeless Records releases were absent from the Spotify database. After reaching out to the label, we can confirm they aren't anti-digital streaming; they merely made a switch in distribution partners, which has led to some gaps in Hopeless releases being available on certain platforms. The label has told us their music will be available again within a few days.
