PropertyOfZack recently spoke with Chuck Ragan of Hot Water Music and he revealed that the band will be taking some time off after its winter tour.

Probably quite a bit of time off in 2013. We may do some stuff here and there if it comes up. I’m completely overloaded already in my own direction. Everybody has got stuff going on all over the place. But who knows? The best part about the band, nowadays to me, is that we just do stuff when it makes sense and have fun doing it. There’s not a whole lot of pressure.

Hot Water Music will release Live in Chicago on 3xLP and 2xCD/DVD on January 15th via No Idea Records. Pre-order it here.

Hot Water Music will be heading out on its first headline tour in 8 years in early 2013, and the band is taking The Menzingers and La Dispute along for the ride. You can find pre-order details here and tour dates in the replies.

PureVolume has a photo gallery up containing images from this year's Riot Fest in Brooklyn. The gallery contains images of The Bronx, The Menzingers, and more before the tornadoes hit. The rest of Riot Fest was canceled, but that didn't stop The Descendents and Hot Water Music from playing a 'secret' show at Saint Vitus. PV got photos of that event as well.

In all seriousness, I felt really honored to be a part of a community that was so open-minded supporting people doing things out of the norm, because when I was a kid, that’s what punk was all about. It was a mind-set, about you being exactly who you wanted to be, no matter what your school or your parents or the church said.

Although they weren't noted in the chart we posted earlier, SoundScan is reporting in its official counts that Hot Water Music sold just over 10,000 copies in first-week sales of Exister, their first record in eight years - good for an opening at the No. 33 position on the charts. Congratulations to the band and to Rise Records.
