It brings me great pleasure to announce that I Am The Avalanche will be chatting here on AP.net, September 22nd at 7pm EST. Be sure to come and chat with the guys about their second album, Avalanche United which has been in the pipes for 6 years. Mark your calendars, buy some popcorn and soda and be ready for a good time.
I Am The Avalanche will definitely be releasing a new album in October and it will be released on a new label. Also, the band has recorded 16 songs, of which 11-12 will be on the album, including "Brooklyn Dodgers." Expect more details from the band within the next week or so.
Last night in Pittsburgh at the I Am The Avalanche show, Vinnie told the crowd that they will be back in the fall on a really big/cool tour. He said he wasn't allowed to say more beyond that at this point. Also he said the new record should be out in October.
Vinnie Caruana played a new I Am The Avalanche song at the recent Barbary show in Philadelphia. He said it "may be" on the new record before playing the song, then said that the new album is too up tempo for this song. Head to the replies to see a video. Vinnie also asked the crowd if anyone would be seeing their The Movielife show next month in May and that there "may be" more shows after that. Kenny Vasoli also played a new The Starting Line song and Brandon Reilly played a new Nightmare of You song.
In a new interview, Vinnie Caruana confirms that I Am The Avalanche are working with "50 songs" and are aiming at a summer/fall release. He also comments on Brandon Reilly's willingness to reunite The Movielife for Bamboozle and solo shows.
At Friday's I Am the Avalanche show in Brookyln, the band told the crowd that they have recently finished recording 25 demos and that it is all up to a certain label to find the money to release them. They played 18 songs including "Waiting Room" by Fugazi, "Tired of Sex" by Weezer and "Turnpike Gates" by Lifetime. They also played a new song entitled "The Place You Love is Gone."
We're teaming up with Four Year Strong to give away a pair of tickets to the band's October 21st show in Seattle, WA at Chop Suey with I Am the Avalanche, This Is Hell, and A Loss For Words. If you'd like to win said tickets, riddle me this: where does drummer Jake Massucco have the phrase "Rise Or Die Trying" tattooed on his body? The first person to answer correctly wins.
