The BBC is reporting that Ian Watkins' potential prison move is drawing criticism in the UK.
Jon Bird, operations manager at The National Association for People Abused in Childhood, said it was "disturbing that there are serious sex offenders who are able to mix with their own kind". Mr Bird added there was a "real concern" about whether Watkins was co-operating fully with his sex offenders treatment and had admitted to the seriousness of his crimes.

NME is reporting that Ian Watkins' ex-girlfriend was found not guilty of possessing and distributing indecent images of children.
Joanne Mkadzelics, 39, from Doncaster, had denied seven charges of possessing and distributing indecent images at Cardiff Crown Court earlier this week. Mkadzelics claimed that she encouraged Watkins to send her pictures and subsequently kept them so that she could expose him.

Oli Skyes has commented on the Ian Watkins trial. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and say that "biggest victims" portion is just really poorly worded.
So Watkins was sentenced & justice was served, wether you think it was too short a stretch or not. My heart goes out to all the victims effected, but I would like you all to consider the impact and destruction watkins has inflicted on his band, and see how them themselves are in some ways the biggest victims of this nightmare. He destroyed the legacy of Lost Prophets (which were my favourite band ever back in the day) -when your band ends you want to be able to look back at all the good times, listen to the songs you made,...

Ex-Lostprophets singer, Ian Watkins, faced his sentencing for child sex offences today and received 35 years imprisonment from Cardiff Crown Court. To make things even more grim, it has now been revealed that after admitting to the offences last month, Watkins has made phone calls from prison describing the events as "megalolz" and that he "didn't know what everyone was getting so freaked out about". Read full details of the sentencing here and live updates from the proceedings here.
On November 27, the day after he admitted he was a paedophile, he said of the court hearing: "It was, like, either me go up there and say 'Come on, it wasn't that bad, nobody got hurt', I do my charm. Or do...

A music lawyer estimates that Ian Watkins has probably made upwards of 100k ($163,040) since his arrest ... off of publishing royalties. This makes me irrationally angry.
His notoriety and renewed publicity when he is sentenced could even cause a cash generation spike as music sales and internet searches rise. Music lawyer Craig Brookes explained that as the band's lyricist, Watkins will be in line for a big cut of any fees generated. 'The biggest income stream will almost certainly be publishing which, even if radio play has stopped, will still be pretty big,' he told Wales on Sunday.

After Lostprophets' vocalist Ian Watkins was charged with several accounts of child sex offences and previously "furiously denying" the charges earlier in the year, he has now plead guilty to the majority of offences.

Update: More detailed (and distressing) updates on the charges heard in court have been added to the BBC News page.

Update #2: ITV News reporter, Rupert Evelyn, is currently live tweeting the court proceedings. Be warned, although he is "heavily editing" the details, it makes for an incredibly unsettling read.
