Jeremy Bolm (Touché Amoré), Neeraj Kane (The Hope Conspiracy), Jay Weinberg (ex-Against Me!) and Stephen LaCour (ex-Trap Them) have formed a new band called Hesitation Wounds. In case you didn't catch it from the news we posted about Tom Gabel's live debut as Laura Jane Grace at Against Me!'s show in San Diego, the band's new record will be called Transgender Dysphoria Blues. The group played six new songs at the show. In the Rolling Stone article about Laura's transformation, there was a mention that writing for this new record begun quite a while ago.
Today the new Rolling Stone hits shelves -- it's the one with the full article on Tom Gabel's recent news. Seeing as it's the first issue of the magazine I've actively wanted to seek out in years ... As the news about Against Me!'s Tom Gabel has spread around the punk community, all of us have had some sort of reaction and response to it. We'd like to thank our users for a polite and respectful discussion on the matter. Another human's personal decision, no matter how many great punk songs they wrote, should be made with the purpose of making them happy and comfortable in their own life and in their own skin. It has just come to our attention that Rolling Stone will be publishing an article on May 24th detailing how Tom Gabel, frontman and lead singer to to Against Me! will be undergoing a sex change. This is literally breaking right now, so give me a second as I put together the facts and update this post with the information that comes in.
Update:Gabel says his new name will be Laura Jane Grace. He says he's not attracted to men and will still be married to his wife. They have a 2-year-old daughter.
