Jim Adkins has described the new Jimmy Eat World album as an "adult break up record."
He went on to describe his muse in piecing together a break-up record: "In writing material for 'Damage,' I wanted an initial jumping-off, so I started writing, searching about love songs. And the kind of love songs that I’m attracted to, that interest me or I find interesting to explore, are the windows of adversity, heartbreak, or break-up… They always speak to me more."

So, check those out below with all of the other staff and then hit up the replies and let us know what you are currently spinning. It's a great time to discover new music.

Zach Lind of Jimmy Eat WorldThere are a few bands over the past few years that have caught my attention that I feel have been overlooked. Wild Light's "Adult Nights" has been one of my favorite records during the past several years and it seems like no one really talks about these guys. "Adult Nights" is a gem...

Jim Adkins of Jimmy Eat World recently posted on their official forum with some updates about the band.
From the Post'new eyeing'. huh? no idea where that rumor came from. i sort of like it though. as a title what the hell could that be about? no, our next album is not (yet) called new eyeing. suggestions are welcome though. maybe someone can start an album title suggestion thread?

we are writing and working out new material now. being off the road and home for holidays has kind of made us really get into being home. for real, home. and i predict this will help our new stuff get put together faster. it is important to us to have material we are proud of. hopefully that can happen...

Today's Retro Reviews post takes a first look into something new: 10 year anniversary reviews. The youngest an album can be to qualify for a "Retro Reviews" is 10 years old, and both of these records celebrated their 10th birthdays within the last two months. We thought we'd start with these two, but count on more retro reviews from time to time.
