This past week, I got the chance to catch up with Mike Hansen of Pentimento and we talked about the band's new album, I, No Longer, at length. We spoke about the album's artwork, working with Paul Leavitt, and went in-depth behind some of the album's lyricism among other things. You can now read Part One of the exclusive track-by-track discussion in the replies. This was a really wonderful experience and if you enjoy reading it, be sure to let us know so we can catch up with more of your favorite bands.

At the recent Pinelands Music Festival, we spoke with CRUISR about the pressures of writing songs, the future of rock music on the radio, and when we can expect to see a full-length album. You can find the full interview here.
Thatís my opinion. Every song, whenever we work on songs I try to think, ďOkay, you donít have one song to speak for yourself at all. You donít have anything. You donít exist.Ē And then I make a song, and thatís going to be the song. I put a lot of unnecessary pressure on myself. But hopefully we put an album out that speaks to that.

You can read our interview with This Wild Life here. The band is currently on the Warped Tour, and will be releasing more video content in the fall, as well as writing new material. The band will also be one of the opening acts on Sleeping With Sirens and Pierce The Veil's winter co-headling tour.
Weíre going to do a really large U.S. Tour in the winter that isnít going to allow us to do any fall touring because of Warped Tourís radius clause. So weíll be home and weíve discussed doing some different things. Weíre definitely going to put out more video content in that time, weíll be writing more because we want to get ahead of the next record Ė our recordís been out for a month now,...

Patrick Stickles of Titus Andronicus recently told Missoulian that the bands next album will be a 30 song rock opera and will include film accompaniment. The epic is inspired in part by The Birth of Tragedy and is the follow-up to last year's Local Business. You can pre-order the untitled record over a year in advance.

Today's Behind The Bits is a bit of a departure, because I'm releasing it as an audio interview! I also did not plan on releasing it as an audio interview at first, which is why I paid no mind to the audio quality as I was recording it. So yes, I know it does not sound great, but can we move on? My talk with former UCB Artistic Director and Comedy Bang! Bang! head writer Neil Campbell is great otherwise, so head over to my blog and focus on the positives. Fear not, though, all the kinks were sufficiently worked out in time for my talk with next week's guest, Kumail Nanjiani.

Today, I'm very excited to be kicking off a feature that is 1.) my first real jaunt into original content as a staff member, and 2.) going to be a big player as far as comedy coverage on the site goes when looking into the future. I got the chance to have the wonderful Paul F. Tompkins be the first interviewee for my column Behind The Bits, which hopes to gather an in-depth look at the world of stand-up comedy. Head over to my blog to get more of a lowdown on this segment & to read the first half of our chat, and be sure keep an eye out here every Wednesday for future installments.
You know, I actually worry about the opposite. If Iím talking about my experiences working on a movie, I...
