RantMy thoughts on iTunes from the beginning (and why we are not in business with them):

1) Apple/iTunes do not care about independent labels or, for that matter, the record industry. Without the music industry, their site and their iPods are useless. Why did the major labels bend over and super serve Steve Jobs free content without negotiating a % of each iPod sale, variable pricing of singles (if the labels CHOOSE to make one available from an album) and other say in how the content is sold? Has anyone looked into any stock option kickbacks here? Since when...

According to Variety.com, Steve Jobs wants to sell all movie content on iTunes for $9.99. However, film companies are trying to force iTunes into selling similar content at multiple price points.

The Fold has added some new t-shirts and track jackets to their merch store. You can now get the album sent to you with a free sticker, and their "John Hancock", if you ask nicely. When you buy stuff directly from them at their store, it helps them out a lot so they can make it and stay on the road. Also, many of you were complaining about this on the ABSOLUTExclusive; you will be happy to know that you can now purchase their album on iTunes.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs' new single "Gold Lion" is now up for purchase on iTunes. For a limited time only you can get a bonus track from free (make sure you click Buy Album and not Buy Song) with the single. The bonus is a demo called "Let Me Know," and it is unclear whether the song will be on Show Your Bones and/or if the demo will be on the CD or 7" singles for "Gold Lion." Shows Your Bones hits stores March 28th on Interscope.
