Jack White recently did a Q&A with fans where he talks about his future playing live and Meg White, among other things. Check out the transcript here.
everyone always plays ‘catch the hypocrite’ with me. probably because i often make the stupid mistake of having opinions and saying them out loud. it’s smarter for well known people to smile and keep their mouth shut […] when has there NOT been negativity about me?
Jack White has penned a letter clarifying his tour rider that was recently published by the University of Oklahoma's college paper. It's in the replies.
first off, this is none of your business, but i have no specific demands in my dressing room. i know i could ask for lots of things but i actually dont ask for ANYTHING. i take with me what i need, and that aint much. anything on the rider is for the band and the crew. this "guacamole recipe" is my hilarious tour managers inside joke with the local promoters, it’s his recipe, not mine. it’s just something to break up the boredom, seeing who can make it best.
It is with great sadness that we tell the world of the passing of the incredible musician Isaiah "Ikey" Owens. He will be missed and loved forever by his family, friends, bandmates and fans. Ikey Owens was an astounding keyboard player in Jack White's backing band. He also played with Mars Volta, Free Moral Agents, and many other projects. Out of respect for Ikey, the remaining shows of the Jack White Tour in Mexico have been cancelled. We will all miss you Ikey. You were and are an incredible artist.
I'm officially supposed to stop now because this is becoming a Kanye West-esque rant for Rollingstone.com. Because apparently, nowadays, you aren't allowed to speak to your own fans about anything, lest it be a rant. So forget ISIS, forget the war in the Middle East, forget any problems at home, forget gay marriage, forget everything you ever thought about everything. This not a rant. This is just me saying, hello Cleveland!"
Jack White's second solo album, Lazaretto, has become the best selling vinyl record since Pearl Jam's Vitalogy back in 1994. Lazaretto has moved over 62,000 vinyl units, vinyl LP sales of Lazaretto account for roughly 25% of the album's total sales. In its debut week, Lazaretto sold over 40,000 copies making it the highest first-week vinyl sales since SoundScan began tracking sales data in 1991.

Jack White's Blunderbuss is the biggest selling vinyl album of 2012 according to Nielsen Soundscan's vinyl charts with over 33,000 copies sold. Knocking The Beatles' Abbey Road off the top spot (a position it had held the previous three years), Blunderbuss sales are the highest for a new album (not a catalog album) since Soundscan began specifically tracking vinyl in 2008.
