So, exactly ten days from today, I will be interviewing this little up and coming band named Jimmy Eat World. Perhaps you have heard of them? Leave some questions you'd like to see asked in the replies, and I will choose the best ones to ask the band - you know how I do it.
Protest The Hero has just launched a new website and myspace layout. The band will be playing this years PunkSprings Festival in Tokyo, Japan late in March alongside Nofx, Jimmy Eat World and more.
"It's quite eclectic. There's three or four songs that sound very much like Jimmy Eat World — jagged guitars, great lyrics and [singer Jim Adkins'] emotional voice. And then there's some things that are very dreamy and spacey," Vig said. "And then there's a couple songs where we went for, like, a Fleetwood Mac-style production, late-'70s studio sound, chimey guitars and a fat drum sound."
Jimmy Eat World has updated their myspace player, adding "Closer," "If You Don't, Don't" along with the Futures UK Bonus Track "When I Want" and another rare song titled "Ramina."
According to a recent articleJimmy Eat World's new album will include backing vocals from Amy Ross of Nowhere Man And A Whiskey Girl and is expected to include such tracks as "Big Casino," "Be Sensible," "Firefight," and "Electable." The album will be mixed in February and will see an early summer release date.
Despite what was said in Alternative Press' "Most Anticipated of 2007" issue, Jimmy Eat World's new album will not be coming out in February. However, the band is just finishing up a few things and are almost done recording the follow-up to 2004's Futures. Rumor has it a tenative title for the release is Chase This Light.
You thought artist development was just for label weasels? You're wrong. Loren Israel has been doing it for years. He started out at Capitol and went on to discover and develop the likes of Jimmy Eat World, Less Than Jake, Plain White T's, and Rock Kills Kid, among many others.
