John Mayer has commented on the Taylor Swift song, "Dear John" that was allegedly written about him.
From Rolling Stone"It made me feel terrible," Mayer says in the new issue of Rolling Stone, on newsstands Friday. "Because I didn't deserve it. I'm pretty good at taking accountability now, and I never did anything to deserve that. It was a really lousy thing for her to do."

John Mayer coasts at the top of the charts again this week, moving almost 68,000 additional copies of Born and Raised - a 71 percent decline from his meteoric sales last week. Adele and One Direction come in after Mayer, while Regina Spektor and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros see the two highest debuts at No. 4 (38,000) and No. 6 (29,000), respectively. Sigur Ros also saw an excellent debut week, cracking the top 10 and No. 9 with 24,000 copies of Valtari. Equally as awesome, fun. saw a huge rise in sales, increasing 57 percent and selling another 17,000 copies of Some Nights - perhaps partially in thanks to the awesome music video they came out with.

Adam Lambert, last week's No. 1, dropped 70% in sales to the No. 11 spot, while fun. remained strong, adding almost 11,000 more sales to its total of Some Nights and rising from No. 33 to 27. Notable debuts included Sara Bareilles at No. 8 with 31,000 of Once Upon Another Time and Kimbra at No. 12 with 22,000 of Vows.

BlogWell, thatís a wrap on release week promotion for Born and Raised. Itís so phenomenally weird to wake up this morning at home and not in the back of a bus somewhere. On the bright side, releasing this album and getting back in touch with my fans has been something Iíve been waiting to experience for a long time now. Iím finally at a place in my life where I can truly appreciate the kindness and support, and you have shown me lots of it. Thank you for that.

As I understand it, the album is set to enter the charts at number one, which is just incredible on all your parts because there...

John Mayer is hoping to have another album ready this time next year.
From the ArticleMayer confirmed he want[s] to hit the road in spring 2013 "and have two records to pull from. ... I think I can cheat time a little bit because as you know, I try to cheat time all the time. So I think we can all catch up so that a year from now there's two records. John Mayer recently posted a blog thanking his fans after having to take some time off from performing.
From the BlogI want to say thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for the love and kindness youíve shown me over the last week. It was such a wonderful and moving show of support that at times I almost felt embarrassed by it. (I donít like taking up too much of the overall field of view.) I also want you to know that Iím cool with things. Transitioning from bummed to inspired, and getting excited for you to hear this upcoming album while I dive deeper into another one.

Thanks again for the love.

John Mayer will be taking an indefinite break from live performing as he deals with a returning vocal cord granuloma.
UpdateDuring rehearsal on Tuesday, it came to mind that I should see my throat doctor because something didnít feel/sound right. I went in for a visit on Wednesday and a scope of my vocal cords revealed that the granuloma has grown back where it had mostly healed. This is bad news. Because of this, I have no choice but to take an indefinite break from live performing. Though there will be a day when all of this will be behind me, it will sideline me for a longer period of time than I care to have you count down.

I want to explain this a bit more in depth than I have...

Due to John Mayer having a granuloma next to his vocal chords, he will be unable to finish the vocals for his new album this year. In a new blog post he says it will be released next year and that "this is a temporary setback, though Iím not sure how long or short a period of time it will be. Iíve got the best doctors in the country looking after me and I will be singing and touring again as soon as I get the all clear. Until then Iíll be spending time writing and composing more music and kicking an empty soup can around the West Village. "
