I mean, I donít really know the kid so I donít really care. I watched some videos of him on tour with his old band and shit. It was cool. Heís got a good voice so itís not like heís not going to be able to fill the shoes, or however you want to put it, but I mean I canít really expect anyone to ever be able to cover the songs that I wrote and actually have me ever like it. Ya know? It doesnít matter if itís good or not, Iím still not going to like it.
If that headline seems a little hefty, that's because it is. PropertyOfZack has an interview up with Jonny Craig today where they discuss Craig's sobriety, why he tried out for The Voice, and the fact that some fans who he ripped off in the MacBook scandal still support him. Great job, fans.
Youíve had your ups and downs. Do you feel like you have to build things back up?
I definitely have ride or die fans that still love me. Even people that got ripped off. There are a couple people I ripped off in the Macbook thing, and they still tweet at me all the time. Some of them donated to my campaign.
Jonny Craig's new single "Rythym In My Soul (Heroine)" is in the replies and on iTunes. For those keeping score, he's raised $10,707 through his IndieGoGo campaign, someone paid $2500 to sing on one of the songs, and another person paid $250 for a signed poster and thank you YouTube video.

Obviously when I was getting high and fucked up, I tended to talk a lot more shit and stuff. And now that I'm not using drugs, it's just not as fun, you know? It took all the life out of it, being rude and all that shit. I kind of have a new found respect for people have that have stuck around...and even ones that have talked shit,...

An anonymous tumblr page has posted a variety of photos, and stories, about Jonny Craig. The page states that Jonny has been kicked out of Dance Gavin Dance and is still heavily involved in drugs. Be warned: the pictures are probably not something you'd want on your work computer. As this breaks, a bunch of information, much of it quite disturbing, will probably start to pour out. We would like to urge everyone to try and have a little compassion, as this is going to get quite rough. Our thoughts are with all involved. Jonny Craig is at the center of some drama again. This time a bunch of emails leaked on a website normally known to leak nudes. It's awkward. It's uncomfortable. The linked page is safe for work, but if you venture anywhere from the homepage, it's not. The gist is that Jonny is unhappy, thinking of quitting music, and needs money. I usually leave these kinds of stories up to the visitors if I post - and seeing as it's all over our newsqueue, it looks like the readers were clamoring for the story.
Indiestar is reporting that Jonny Craig has been released from prison ďby order of the judge through Californiaís drug diversion program. Upon his release, Mr. Craig is court ordered to complete time in drug rehab."
