Thereís so much music out there; thereís so much stuff that sounds like Haim or CHVRCHES or Vampire Weekend that Iím full. The thing Iím hungry for is not that. I turn on the rock station in L.A. and it sounds like Disney commercial music. And Iím confused by that. The dude from Foster the People was literally a jingle writer. No disrespect, but for me to make that stuff was kind of out of the question.
Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory is coming to vinyl again via Warner. The album's original pressing is a costly buy on eBay, and the record was reissued for the first time in a decade last year as a part of Record Store Day. The newest pressing is tagged with an Oct. 22 release and is available to preorder for $20.99 through Shop Radio Cast.
Here's something interesting. In promoting their collaboration "A Light That Never Comes," Steve Aoki and Linkin Park released a teaser video that appears to show the use of a pirated version of Lennar Digital's Sylenth 1 software. Unique Squared has an opinion piece & evidence on the issue, outlining several possible outcomes from the situation. Does it bother you that financially-stable musicians are still stealing the software that helped them become successful? Does it not matter?
Update: Steve Aoki has addressed the concerns via his blog, where he shows proof of purchase and explains the pirated software.

Linkin Park's Chester Bennington has joined Stone Temple Pilots, replacing original vocalist Scott Weiland (fired for the billionth time in February). The band revealed Chester in a surprise performance at the KROQ Weenie Roast yesterday, playing a set which included a new song called "Out Of Time." The recorded version is in the replies - What do you think?
A few online retailers are posting about a vinyl release for Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory, to include a colored 10". Some are speculating it'll be a Record Store Day release, and others thing the 10" will contain the B-Side "My December." You buying?
