Manchester Orchestra posted up a blog about their 1/2 of the upcoming split with Thrice.
Message from AndyPEOPLE! it's andy. i wanted to take a minute and thank you for the response the last few days to the news about some "new" music. we are so stoked to get this thing officially out into the world, even if there are only a couple hundred copies available. the story behind the making of our half of this record is a pretty cool one. i thought i would share with you the history behind why we decided to record what is undeniably THE BEST 14 minute stoner-rock version of "Don't Speak" by No Doubt to ever exist.

when manchester was writing mean everything to nothing i was in the middle...

Kevin Devine and Andy Hull didn't want Bad Books to be a one time thing, and with Bad Books II, they're also showing it's not a one trick pony. Today we're bringing you the premiere of "It Never Stops," which can be heard in the replies. The song carries like an angsty Wilco cut found on a Ryan Adams record. Let us know what you think in the replies. Pre-orders for the album can be found here.

Our pal Jonathan Corely (Manchester Orchestra) checked in from the Favorite Gentlemen tour.
Update From JonathanTwo more hours of driving in All Get Outís van and Iíll be flying back home out of Pittsburgh. The last week flew by as the first ďFavorite Gentlemen TourĒ made itís way up North. For months now, Iíve looked forward to spending time on the road with each of bands. Charlotte natives Junior Astronomers turn heads immediately every night by unleashing their own energetic and intricate indie pop songs. Itís truly been a pleasure to spend time with every band/crew member.

I canít begin to explain how much I appreciate the continued support from devoted fans all across this...

Update: The band will not be changing their name. - DB

Manchester Orchestra revealed in a new interview that they have left Columbia Records and will most likely release their next album under a different band name.
From the Interview We are no longer with Columbia. We released our final record through them. It would just be through Favorite Gentlemen and maybe some other imprint. I donít think itíll be under the name Manchester though. I want to try to do something like Sgt. Peppers. Not musically, but those dudes made those records under the pretense of a different band. They became this other band and it allowed their creative ability to go wherever they wanted because they werenít...

From the InterviewThis record draws you in and then hopefully takes you on some sort of musical journey. That sounds so stupid, but you know what I mean. It kind of brings you along, invites you in and takes you through a whole bunch of weird wormholes.

In a new interview, Manchester Orchestra said they hope to release a b-side album later this year of slower and different songs that did not make it on Simple Math.
In This InterviewThe thing about our band is that we really love the studio and touring is a separate entity that we do because we have to and because we like seeing our fans and have them not just be an idea. We do love just sitting in the studio. If we can get some time to sit down in the studio and hash out the songs that didnít make it, weíll try to get a b-side album out this year.
