In a follow-up to an earlier story, doctors have confirmed that Brett Hinds, vocalist for Mastodon, who was attacked following the Video Music Awards and suffered severe head injuries, is expected to make a full recovery.
Brett Hinds, vocalist for Mastodon has been admitted to hospital after suffering a severe head injury following the group's performance at the recent Video Music Awards. While exact details are skewed, rumors are swirling that Hinds was physically assaulted moments after leaving the stage.

Mastodon will be recording their forthcoming album, which is tentatively titled Blood Mountain, with Matt Bayles (Botch, ISIS, Norma Jean). A late summer release is expected.
Mastodon will be featured in a 30 minute television special which is set to air on MTV2 this coming Saturday, January 21st at 11:30pm EST. The special, entitled "Mastodon: The Workhorse Chronicles", will center around the bands upcoming DVD outing The Workhorse Chronicles, which is due out through Relapse on February 21st.
