Mastodon has recorded their cover of Metallica's "Orion" for the up and coming "Kerrang!" This will be apart of the 20th anniversary tribute to Metallica's Master Of Puppets.

Mastodon will be recording their forthcoming album, which is tentatively titled Blood Mountain, with Matt Bayles (Botch, ISIS, Norma Jean). A late summer release is expected.

Mastodon will be featured in a 30 minute television special which is set to air on MTV2 this coming Saturday, January 21st at 11:30pm EST. The special, entitled "Mastodon: The Workhorse Chronicles", will center around the bands upcoming DVD outing The Workhorse Chronicles, which is due out through Relapse on February 21st.
