Andy Hull is on the latest episode of Matt Pryor's podcast, Nothing to Write Home About. He talks about the new project Manchester Orchestra is working on right now as a "completely alternate version of Cope," called Hope. He says they're "stripping the songs down and re-doing them." He also mentions that he's "mixing lyrics up and writing songs and melodies differently" and that it'll be "its own thing." He says it'll be released in November. He also says they will be touring on this alternate version and will be playing in old churches and venues like that. You can hear the audio starting around 48:35 on the podcast.
You can stream and download a new Matt Pryor song titled "Kinda Go To Pieces" at Rolling Stone. It's off his upcoming release, Wrist Slitter, which hits stores on November 11th via Rory Records/Equal Vision Records.

One of the very first songs I learned on guitar was Otis Redding’s ‘(Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay,’ taught to me by the same fella who taught me some of the first standard chords I have ever learned, some 25 to 26 years ago. Mr. Roy Ridenour, one of my dad’s buds, used to come over for dinner and pick his guitar with anything from bluegrass to blues to old soul and folk tunes. Wherever you are Roy, thanks for all your patience and positive words that kept me from giving up!
Today we have an acoustic video of Matt Pryor of The Get Up Kids performing a new song "Nobody Gives A Damn" acoustically. Matt is trying to fund money to release his new solo record, May Day, independently through Kickstarter. You can check out the video in the replies and if you want to talk to Matt about the new album or anything in general, he will be chatting later today on his facebook at 6pm EST.
The Terrible Twos(Matt Pryor's other other band) have announced via their myspace blog that their new album, Jerzey The Giant, will be out July 29th, the same day Matt Pryor's solo effort Confidence Man is expected to drop, both via Vagrant Records.
