My Chemical Romance have talked to MTV about their new album, citing that it will be less "hiding behind a veil of fiction or uniforms and makeup" and more pure.
From the ArticlePeople who were really big fans of our first record, they'll find things they're really going to love about the new material ó and not because we sound like that first record at all, it's because there's a purity to it. There's less happening.

From the ArticleRight now, itís really in the preliminary writing stage, just tossing back and forth ideas. There havenít been any real serious writing sessions yet. Weíre actually talking about getting together again this month, and after that in the new year weíll really sit down and start working on songs. For now itís just been you know, kinda hanging out.''

Mikey Way will be getting into the comic business as well, with an original 8-page story coming in DC Comics' upcoming Halloween '08 special. My Chemical Romance is taking a long break but will be back with something that will be worth the wait.
From the Article"We may write a bunch of stuff, and then a month later switch gears and do it all again. So if, say, we wrote some songs that sound like Rick Springfield, a week later they've all turned into Children of Bodom songs. I know it's going to be great; I just don't know what it's going to sound like. We're going to be just as surprised as everyone else, believe me."
