Mike from mewithoutYou has posted a brief update concerning the demoing of new material. Read below.
BlogHello all... It's mike here. Just wanted to wish you a happy new year! I'm very busy these days with various different house projects...can't wait to start playing music again. The band has decided to start focusing on writing and recording again, so you might not see us on the road for some time. We are very grateful for all the love and support that we've been given particularly on the last winter tour. THANK YOU!! Anyway in a week and a half or so, we start working out new tunes and it's exciting because we won't be writing with amps and a drum kit. Just us with some acoustics and...

The Tourist (Greg from mewithoutYou's side project) has posted a new song on his myspace and posted a bulletin about how the song was recorded.
Myspace Bulletini posted a new song. i recorded it on the bus, in the venue, outside of the venue, next to a dumpster, etc....so it has lots of background noise (people talking, the bus engine revving, wind blowing, other bands playing).

you can rest assured that this 'noise' is genuine and not synthesized.

the song is called 'golden morning.'

lend an ear?

much much peace.

life is good.

greg.

An AP reader saw the first show of the Brand New/Thrice/mewithoutYou tour last night. Below are his impressions, including a set list for Brand New.
Fan ReportMewithoutYou play with such a ridiculous amount of energy, even if you dont like the music they deserve your respect.

Thrice played a tight set, despite a lot of technical problems with their equipment and strings constantly snapping. But on the first night of tour it shouldnt come as a surprise. A decent mix of all their albums, but definitely most of the set was new Alchemy Index songs and Vheissu.

Brand New played a set consisting of nearly all the songs off of The Devil And God, the only one they missed was Welcome To...

Aaron Weiss of mewithoutYou has posted a blog about playing some small shows in the tri-state area.
Message from the BandI'm writing because recently I've become increasingly uncomfortable with handling our band like a business, making people pay to see us, selling things, marketing, publicity, press photos, you can certainly imagine the conflict here...

in many many ways we have been conformed to the patterns of the music business, patterns that are so powerful I don't expect for us to overcome them overnight, but after talking a while with the guys a couple of us got the idea to try to step a while outside of these patterns.

over the past few years a number of folks have asked some...

Thursday are tricky. If you look closely on their website's splash page, you can see the word "MeWithoutYou" tangled in the text "The Number Twelve Looks Like You". In other words, MeWithoutYou are also on the tour! The tour, which features Thursday, Minus The Bear, MeWithoutYou, We.re All Broken and The Number 12 Looks Like You has announced some more dates in the tour section of Minus The Bear's website.
