Miss May I have released a second, longer statement about the passing of a fan at their concert.
Hey everyone, apologies for the radio silence these last couple of days. After what happened we've all taken some time to reflect but we had to speak up today to give our heartfelt thanks. First and foremost, to those who've reached out tooffer their sympathies or who've kept Alberto and his family in their thoughts and prayers. In particular to all those who donated to his family; after only a few days they have almost reached their fundraising goal. If you can spare any amount, no matter how small, it will be greatly appreciated. You can do so here.

We're also looking into an auction....

We are awaiting a full report from the New York Police Department. In the meantime, wed ask that all your thoughts and prayers be with his family. Weve be made aware of a webpage that is raising funds to help pay for his funeral costs. We will be making a contribution and wed strongly urge others to do so.

Update 5/5, 11:21am ET: A Brooklyn Vegan post includes an update from the Studio at Webster Hall, which is the venue where the incident occurred: "Webster Hall says that despite what people are saying at Miss May I's Facebook, 'the patron in question did not die while stage diving. The patron collapsed while exiting the venue, as video footage and the police corroborate.'" The band is expected to make a statement once they are legally allowed to. We will keep this post updated. - Thomas Nassiff

Miss May I will enter the studio on August 14th with producer Terry Date to begin working on their fourth studio album. It's due out in Spring 2014 via Rise Records.
Miss May I has been a wild ride for all of us since the beginning. From starting out in a basement in a small Ohio town, listening to our favorite bands, and just trying to play shows, all the way up to now, about to record our fourth full length album. As a long time fan, I am ecstatic to announce that we will be working with Terry Date on our next record. Growing up jamming Deftones, White Zombie, and Pantera, it's a dream come true to be working with the man who helped capture some of their greatest work. As if that...
Alex DiVincenzo on 08/01/13 - 09:26 AM
In a recent interview with Mind Equals Blown, Levi Benton of Miss May I mentioned that the band will be recording its new album with producer Terry Date.
We dont know a release date. Were hoping for this year. Were shooting really hard for this year but it might be early next year. Were going to a really big producer this time, which were really excited about, and changing up the team again. Were trying to change it every record just to see what we can do. I guess since we got a lot of acceptance on our last record, we have a more open door to doing crazier stuff. We were like dumbing it down a little bit before and now we can go full out. Were working with Terry Date, he did...

From the Interview No, our biggest thing is that were all about being oldschool. We dont like the keyboards or the dubstep or that crazy stuff. Our biggest thing was to step away and tone it down some; to play our instruments and be and oldschool thrash metal band

According to a Miss May I FB post regarding their upcoming tour, Confide is breaking up.
messageFor everyone wondering why the Monument tour lineup has changed: The Word Alive have decided to go out on tour with A Day To Remember instead of the Monument Tour, and Confide informed us that they will not be doing the tour any longer because they are breaking up. Sorry to anyone who this disappoints, we do not have any further information on those bands' situations.
