Rob Dobi's brother, Dan Dobi has created a new documentary on the rise of YouTube and what life is like being a professional YouTuber. Some of the score was done by Gregory Dunn of Moving Mountains as well. You can watch the trailer in the replies. The film will be playing in select theaters for one day next week, so if it's playing near you, try and make it out to see it.
Update: The chat is now over. We'd like to thank Nick, Phil, Tanner and Jordan for taking some time out of their busy schedules to spend a couple hours with us. Go and catch them on the Triple Crown Records tour next month!
The guys from Moving Mountains, O'Brother and Caspian will be chatting in this thread at 8pm EST. Stop by and talk about their upcoming tour, new albums or anything in general!
We're happy to announce that the guys from Moving Mountains, O'Brother and Caspian will be chatting on the website tomorrow at 8pm EST. Feel free to stop by and ask the guys about their latest albums, the new tour and more. Don't forget about our vinyl contest we posted about yesterday as well.
O'Brother, Moving Mountains, and Caspian are currently on the road together for the Triple Crown Tour 2012. Today, we're giving away some vinyl (O'Brother's Basement Window, Moving Mountains's New Light, and Caspian's Waking Season) because we're in the holiday spirit. To win all three records, tell me a story from your Thanksgiving festivities this past week and I'll pick my favorite ones. Don't forget to check out this tour too when it comes to your town. Good luck!
Moving Mountains is currently writing their new album, which will go into pre-production at the end of this month. The band will then head to Atlanta to record with Matt Goldman. Also, Josh Kirby is a full-time member now.
Moving Mountains will be releasing a special limited edition colored vinyl version of Foreword via Topshelf Records on Record Store Day. You can view the artwork and tracklisting on the regular version pre-order page.
Most of you know Josh Kirby as that long-haired nuisance playing guitar for Moving Mountains on the band's most recent tour. The man has a solo project called Mount Carmel And The End Of The World, where he records every instrument and releases a new song every week for nearly half a year. I chatted with Josh about his experiment, which ended up turning into a full feature, which you can read here. To commemorate the occasion, Kirby is letting us stream his new track "The Plan" a few days early, which you can hear on in the piece or in the replies.
Moving Mountains will be releasing a new EP, New Light, on April 24th. The EP will feature new interpretations and acoustic recordings of old favorites.
2) Ode We Will Bury Ourselves
3) Where Two Bodies Lie
It brings me pleasure to bring everyone an exclusive video from Moving Mountains today. The video is for "Always Only For Me" off the band's phenomenal new album, Waves. The footage is from their ApK Sessions and it's nothing short of great. Jump to the replies to check it out and be sure to catch the band playing at every date of this year's Warped Tour.
Update: The chat is now over. HUGEEEE thanks to the dudes of Moving Mountains. Make sure to pick up their album tomorrow.
At 6 PM EST, the fantastic and ethereal Moving Mountains will be chatting in this thread. Make sure you're here to discuss their new album, Waves, which comes out tomorrow. Or just talk about how they feel about being way better than your favorite band. Whoop whoop! They'll be here until about 8 PM EST, so you have plenty of time to gab.
For this week's Five and Alive, Gregory Dunn of Moving Mountains talks about five albums that had a lot of influence on the band's new album Waves. Head here to check out his choices, and you can stream the album here while reading up on its influences.
This Monday, May 9th, Moving Mountains will be on AP.net chatting with you, their loyal, rabid fans. Make sure to be here from 6-8 PM EST, and then make sure to either pre-order their new album Waves or pick it up this coming Tuesday. This one's gonna be a landmark chat, I can feel it.
