Paulson have been selected by mtvU as one of their Fall semester's Freshman Five. According to mtvU, "the Freshman Five are artists we'd like to become a core part of mtvU's programming." Therefore, the group's music video for "Calling on You" will be added into regular rotation for the network's Fall season beginning September 24th. Furthermore, the group have scheduled a live performance for Tuesday, September 11th at the Mercury Lounge in New York City, which will be filmed by the network for an upcoming television special.

I went to see the MTVU Campus Invasion Tour 06 last night at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida. I was surprised to find it was a closed show, meaning only students could acquire free tickets, and as a result, there were perhaps 300-400 people in attendance. With Motion City Soundtrack headlining (they played about an hour), Hellogoodbye opened with a 30-minute set and Straylight Run served as direct support with a 40-minute set.
Hellogoodbye disappointed me a bit at first because Forrest really didn't seem to be using his entire range to sing the songs, so they sounded a bit muffled, despite the fact that the instruments were near-perfect. But toward the end of their set, he really...

“Campus Invasion Tour 2006” – Back for its second year under the mtvU banner, Campus Invasion ’06 will bring red-hot emerging acts Motion City Soundtrack, HelloGoodbye and Straylight Run to twenty college campuses across the US beginning the first week in April. Motion City Soundtrack is fresh off winning “The Breaking Woodie” (Best Emerging Artist) at the 2005 mtvU Woodie Awards, HelloGoodbye took first place honors in the recent MTV2 Dew Circuit Breakout battle-of-the-bands competition, and Straylight Run’s video for “Hands in the Sky” has been a student favorite, earning heavy rotation on mtvU. *Dates and campuses for the tour are to be announced.
