The award was decided by a panel of judges featuring Peter Hook (Joy Division/New Order), Dom Howard and Chris Wolstenholme (Muse), Tom Smith (Editors), Tim Burgess (The Charlatans), Charlie Fink (Noah and The Whale), Craig Potter (Elbow) as well Xfm radio hosts. I have been listening to a lot of English music at the moment and reading a lot of English writers, I think the record we have just made is our American-influenced album.

Charlotte Gainsbourg will release Stage Whisper on November 7. The double-album features live material, previously unreleased studio tracks and collaborations with the likes of Beck, Villagers and Noah and the Whale. It is with no little remorse and disappointment that we are compelled to cancel these dates. These words are being typed in the studio as we make progress on the next Noah and the Whale album.
