In a startling turn of events, Oasis's Noel Gallagher has jabbed at the efforts of Razorlight and Kaiser Chiefs on the upcoming Radio 2 Sgt Pepper tribute, saying of their performances, "I was embarrassed for them."

It appears as if Oasis is going to be releasing a "compilation" record on November 20th. However, Oasis denies that it is a greatest hits record.

Though the group deny it's a "greatest hits", the record will be drawn from all of the band's album and single releases, with Oasis picking the 18 tracks set to feature themselves .

Although the tracklisting for the double album is a closely guarded secret, it will feature the classic singles 'Supersonic', 'Wonderwall' and 'The Importance Of Being Idle'.

Noel Gallagher of Oasis recently stuck up for Arctic Monkeys following Morrissey's comments that success has come too fast for the band.

The Oasis guitarist spoke just hours before the Monkeys opened for the band at the Toronto Air Canada Centre (March 20).

Let's call it what it is - it's indie shit, is what it is. None of them are trying to make it big. They're all trying to make it small or medium - that's it. Don't get me wrong - I kinda like Franz Ferdinand and Kaiser Chiefs [but] Bloc Party are just appalling. None of them strike me as trying to be in the biggest band in the world or the best band in the world - it's just indie rubbish.
