So we just received this strange video in the replies anonymously and it name drops Jason, though we don't know what it's about. Good acting, though. Which video do you think is more VMA-worthy: the clip in the replies or this one?

Panic! at the Disco will be recording their new album later this year.
From the Article"We haven't decided yet, you know? We've met a couple of other producers, but we haven't really decided who we want to do the record with," Smith said. "When we get done with the [Blink-182] tour in August, hopefully in the fall is when we'll be recording. ... We've actually talked to Rob, and hopefully he'll do some string arrangements or maybe produce a track for us. And, of course, Mark Hoppus. We've met with him, and we'll be touring, too, so hopefully we can work it out on the road.

Looks like our threat FINALLY worked. Panic! at the Disco have brought back their exclamation point as a new beginning for the band.
From the ArticleHopefully, there's less of a big deal [made] about it coming back than there was about it going away. It seems like a new chapter, so having that as part of the band seemed like something we could bring back ... to reinforce that Panic! at the Disco is not breaking up, it's still going.

Ian Crawford (formerly of The Cab) and Dallon Weekes (The Brobecks) will be joining Panic! at the Disco for their upcoming tour.

Ryan Ross (ex-Panic! at the Disco) has talked to MTV about his new music, the uncertainty of his contract with Fueled by Ramen, and the lack of a band name. Feel free to leave some suggestions for a name in the replies.
From the Article"We were really into a lot of the Motown and Stax Records stuff when we first started. ... I don't know if you'll really hear that, but that's what got us into the idea of writing songs that are fun and short and have a good groove that you can dance to and mixed with the Ray Davies and the Kinks stuff," Ross continued. "It's a lot more groove-oriented, and we realized that maybe that was one thing we were lacking on Pretty. Odd., was that some of the...

Ryan Ross (ex-Panic! at the Disco) has addressed the cocaine picture debacle via MTV.
From the Article"I planned the whole thing!" he laughed. "No, [the photo was taken] a couple of weeks ago — I do remember, believe it or not. I'm not gonna tell you whose house it was at, but yeah, there was a party the night before, and I slept on the couch, and we took a picture. I didn't even really know [the cocaine] was there.
Anton Djamoos on 07/14/09 - 12:09 PM
MTV has an article detailing the musical differences leading to the Panic! at the Disco split from the perspective of Ryan Ross and Pete Wentz.
From the Article"Brendon has always been a fan of pop music, but that's such a broad term, because I guess I would say I would be too, but in a different way. Jon and I are still very much influenced by the Beatles and Beach Boys stuff and the Kinks and stuff like that," Ross said. "And so that's the stuff we were writing at my house ... that's the stuff we're going to make now. I haven't heard any of Brendon and [drummer] Spencer [Smith]'s stuff, to be honest."

MTV asked Gabe Saporta, Ryan Ross, Vampire Weekend, and more, about their favorite albums and songs of 2008.
Guess WhoMillionaires, 'Alcohol:' What's better than three 19-year-old girls writing a song whose chorus is, 'Let's get f---ed up/ Gimme my alcohol?' Well, what if I told you that they even spelled it out for you? 'Cause, like, they're still in school and stuff. And, like, spelling is really important.
