Dallon Weekes has clarified his role in Panic! At The Disco. See his statement below.
Panic! is Brendons band. I'm happy to be a part of it! But fans need to understand that my job in Panic! is to play bass. That's where my role in Panic! begins and ends. Bands evolve and they change. That will always be true. When that happens you can either evolve and change with it, or dismiss yourself from it. I LOVE my job with Panic! So I am choosing to evolve and keep having the best job in the world.

Panic! at the Disco talked with Billboard about the band's future. New music could be happening this year.
I’m picking through demos that I’d been working on for the last couple of years. Every day I’m writing something. I write an idea a day. Even if it’s 10 seconds of a melody or a lyric. I love it too much to not work. It would drive me crazy to not do anything.
