The producer of Paramore's new album talked a little about his process in a new interview, stating the band doesn't "need to be a pop-punk band anymore" and "All I’m really trying to say is that we’re not trying to deliberately lose their natural commerciality. I am here to articulate their vision for a step of growth. I’m not afraid to put a guitar through a modular synth, for instance. I want the album to sound very visceral and a little bit less locked down and computerized—more 1981 than 2012, with a nod to 2016. Humans playing textural sounds that can still be heavy and fast, but also shaded."
Billboard caught up with a bunch of folks from FBR at a recent fun. show and they dropped details on upcoming releases from the label. Paramore has posted a blog letting fans know that yesterday the frivolous lawsuit claiming Paramore plagiarized another band's work regarding "The Only Exception" was officially dropped.
Just got confirmation that my ears do work. As we know, Hayley Williamstweeted that she contributes some background vocals on the new mewithoutYou album. However, I wanted to make sure before posting what songs she appears on, and can now say that they are: "Fox's Dream of the Log Flume" and "All Circles." I posted a few of my initial thoughts on the new album here, and will add to that: I honestly didn't recognize Hayley's vocals until I started looking for them. That said, they fit in perfectly. Don't waste your breath complaining.
