Oh, Sleeper are not happy with the money spent on the inauguration festivities.
From the BlogIt's pretty ironic to me, considering the current economic state of our nation that we elect a president who's main campaign was "fixing the economy", and then we spend $170,000,000 (170 million dollars) on today's inauguration.

I'm so glad that CHANGE has finally come to save the day......wait......

Today is Human Rights Day, and our friends at Causecast have asked us to draw attention to Aung San Suu Kyi. A Nobel Peace Prize winner, she has stood up against a corrupt regime in Burma that has been ruling by force for twenty years, and has kept her under house-arrest for 13 of the past 18 years; preventing her from taking her democratically appointed office. She has made a call for individuals to write freedom songs in response. You may submit yours to myfreedomsong@causecast.org.

Jim Ward (Sparta) has sent out a bulletin urging everyone to vote for Obama.
Message from JimThe last few weeks of my life have been inspiring and I am left, at least to some degree, a changed man. It started with an invitation to play a rally for Barack Obama with my friends in Bright Eyes in Omaha. I stood amongst some of the most charged up and positive folks I have ever met. Up to this point, although knowing that I have voted for Democrats in almost all contests, I had yet to fully embrace a candidate for the Democratic Party. I was moved by the volunteer’s passion for a change and the stories they told me of how they ended up signing on with the Obama campaign. I bought his book,...

From the Article"'The government's attitude during that era was one of absolute rejection and repression,' Mexican rock historian Jose Agustin said. 'They thought that any rock 'n' roll event was going to cause disorder, depravity and obscenity.'"

Tom Delonge And PoliticsWatch out Hillary! Former Blink-182 goofball turned prolific Angels & Airwaves frontman Tom DeLonge recently told us that he has considered throwing his hat into the political ring.

“There was awhile when I actually thought I was going to be doing stuff in politics,” he said. “I spent a great part of the election year traveling with John Kerry and really being involved in the campaign. If Kerry would have won -- I was pitching all these different initiatives to his administration, y’know?...

This will be a busy week in the House -- Congress goes into summer recess Friday, but not before considering the Section 115 Reform Act of 2006 (SIRA). Never heard of SIRA? That’s the way Big Copyright and their lackey’s want it, and it's bad news for you.

Simply put, SIRA fundamentally redefines copyright and fair use in the digital world. It would require all incidental copies of music to be licensed separately from the originating copy. Even copies of songs that are cached in your computer's memory or buffered over a network would need yet another license. Once again, Big Copyright is looking for a way to double-dip into your wallet, extracting payment for the same content at...
