Nothing And Nobody, the new project from Chris Holmes and Mark Hoppus, have remixed Nova Rockafeller's "1990s." Stream it on Purevolume. This project is probably what Chris was alluding to on Twitter earlier this week and you can now follow them on Twitter and Instagram as well.
Working under the moniker "Nothing and Nobody," Mark Hoppus teamed up with friend and engineer/producer Chris Holmes to strip down Nova Rockafeller's ode to the Gameboy decade, "1990s." Where the original features a fair amount of video game influenced bleeps and bloops and mechanical drums, Hoppus and Holmes opted for live instrumentation, giving the track a raw rock 'n' roll feel that would make the '90s...

PureVolume recently spoke with Maja Ivarsson (The Sounds) about the band's upcoming new album, Weekend.
And you start to wonder about it. But maybe it has something to do with age, you know? I mean, gosh—we’re getting old. Well, kind of. I just turned 34 last week. But I kind of like it so far. And I want to grow old. I think it’s a beautiful thing, getting older, as long as you don’t totally turn ugly and fat and unhealthy. Although I have gained some weight lately. But hey—why not? And I think when you write songs, and this goes for most people, there’s always a certain time in your life, like your teenage years and your early 20s, where those years are so intense and so dramatic.

PureVolume recently spoke with Chris Hannah (Propagandhi) about the upcoming twentieth anniversary of his band's release, How To Clean Everything.
A song like "Ska Sucks" was never supposed to be played outside of Winnipeg. We had written the song just to piss off local skinheads who for some reason identified heavily with ska music in the early ‘90s. We didn't really want to record it but [label owner/NOFX's] Fat Mike wanted it so we thought, "Well, the guy is paying for it and no one is ever going to buy this thing, so who gives a shit?" Now it's the proverbial albatross around our necks for the rest of our lives.

PureVolume recently inteviewed Touché Amoré's Jeremy Bolm about the band's new album, how he deal with critics, and why he's still so passionate about underground music and the culture surrounding it.
It blows my mind that the generation gap isn't even that big, but a kid will come in to buy a Code Orange Kids record and I'll be like, "Oh, Deathwish has reissued the first Cursed record," and they'll have no idea what that is. I won't let them buy the Code Orange Kids record if they don't get the Cursed record first because I think it's important for them to know where the bands they like now come from. The fact that a lot of kids hadn't heard Modern Life Is War blows my mind because if...

I kind of thought the crowd-funding thing was interesting but I had a whole mess of fear based somewhat ethical concerns. Most of which I addressed pretty explicitly in the essay that accompanies the Kickstarter campaign but I ultimately decided to do it because I wanted to do something different and see if either A, I was super misguided in thinking I had the kind of connection with the audience that I thought I had or B, I was correct in assuming that they're not concerned where the records come out label-wise as...

Now things have gone way past that and you can just have an internet presence and not even have done your first tour yet and if that's what someone wants to do that's fine. I just think you're devaluing the fan base if they come out to see you at a show and you don't even know how to play your songs successfully live.

PureVolume recently spoke with Brendon Urie of Panic! At The Disco about the band's upcoming new album, marriage, and spirituality.
I mean, when we left Vegas, we were 17 years old, so we had a bitter attitude. We didn’t have the opportunity to play any shows there because you had to be 21 and over to play any gig, because most of the venues were in bars. So when we left, we were like ‘What the hell?’ We didn’t really get to do anything that we wanted to do. But having gone back now, and getting to be of age and participate in things, you see the world in a different light.

Yeah. I don’t know if it’s arrogant, but it’s just like we have the tendency to just only look at what’s around us, generally speaking. So that was just a super inspirational trip. And the second one was when they invited me to play one of these shows that they put on, which is essentially a four-hour concert with anywhere from 20 to 50 different artists from all over the world.
