We have more than enough songs. We're booked til September, but after that we plan to jump in the studio and get going...When it's time to make music, that's about getting lost for me. To be a control freak is not half as good as being a freak who's casually in control. You're feeling around in the dark for something that feels good. As long as you're not in an orgy, that can be an amazing moment.
You can also check out the band's recent hour-long performance on "Austin City Limits" over on the PBS website.
Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age) is apparently not a fan of Jay Z. On a recent interview with CBC Radio 2's The Strombo Show, Homme talked about his experience at Jay Z's "Made In American" Festival and how he didn't like getting frisked by security or taking a picture with a bottle of champagne. You can listen to the entire interview in the replies.
"That guy's a kook, you know," Josh Homme said. "He has his security frisking the bands on the way in." When security asked to look through his bag, Homme threatened not to play the festival. "No one's ever done that," he said of his previous festival experiences. Then, of Jay Z, he said, "You shouldn't frisk my guys, you should fuck...
Updating our previous post projecting sales numbers of Sleeping With Sirens' new album, Feel, the final numbers have come in and the album sold 59,000 units in its debut week. That was good enough to place it at No. 3 on the Billboard charts, behind Queens of the Stone Age's debut week and Daft Punk's strong second week of Random Access Memories. The debut marks the band's best sales week and Rise Records' highest debut total ever. Congrats to the band and their entire team!
Coming in at No. 3 is a new arrival from rock act “Sleeping With Sirens,” which scores its best sales week and highest-charting album ever with “Feel.” The album debuts with 59,000 sold. Twenty-seven percent of the...
Billboard is reporting that Sleeping With Sirens will sell around 60,000 units of Feel in its first week on the charts, which will be second to Queens of the Stone Age (projected 80K) for debut albums in the week ending June 9. That number should be good enough to land Sleeping With Sirens in the top three on the Billboard 200 (competing with Daft Punk for the No. 2 slot). This would be the highest sales week of the band's career and, impressively, Rise Records' highest-selling debut.
You can stream a new Queens Of The Stone Age song titled "I Appear Missing" in the replies. The video is sort of NSFW, I guess. The song is off the band's upcoming album, ...Like Clockwork, which hits stores on June 4th.
The album also features three drummers: Dave Grohl, as was previously reported; Joey Castillo, the band’s now-former drummer; and Jon Theodore, who played drums for The Mars Volta on their first three records and accompanying tours, as well as One Day As a Lion with Zack De La Rocha of Rage Against The Machine. The announcement below is cryptic in just how much of a role Theodore plays, but it’s our understanding that he is the current active drummer in Queens Of The Stone Age.
The new Queens of the Stone Age album is titled ...Like Clockwork and will be out in June. If you refresh the band's website, you can hear some clips. The new logo (or maybe album cover), which is in the replies, has got to piss off Underoath.
Former Queens of The Stone Age bassist Nick Oliveri is working with the band again. Add that with the news that Dave Grohl is on board for the new album and things seem to be heading in a great direction.
