I recently did a short interview with Rise Records owner Craig Ericson, which can be read here, talking about the label's recent activity and the "core Rise fans" and their reactions to the label's recent signings.
From the Interview My message was clear. Have respect for other types of music. Kids that exclusively listen to metalcore can sometimes just automatically hate everything that doesnít sound like metalcore. I donít want to stereotype people, but a lot them talk shit. I donít really like shit talkers, especially if itís on the Rise site about a Rise band. Common sense, right??

Continuing about metalcore music, a lot of people this is a genre with a pretty short shelf life. Do...

Tyler Carter is leaving Woe, Is Me. A statement from Tyler can be found below.
Tyler CarterIt's not an easy step to make, but I can't go on living a dream that I no longer have full interest in. I love the fans, and I hope the true ones will stick with Woe, Is Me and myself even after my departure. Don't be ignorant to the situation--it's nothing personal with the boys, I love them all. I just can't fake passion that I once had. I always preach to my fans, "Follow your dreams," and I need to take my own advice. My dreams are not fully achieved. I achieved several with the band, but I have many more goals to reach. This lifestyle, "rock 'n' roll" and what it consists of just isn't for me...

You can read a new interview with Jon Mess of Dance Gavin Dance, regarding the band's rocky future, Jonny Craig's antics and how they all cope being together, here.
From the Interview So I did the tour, and by the end Will and Matt were like, ďWe don't want to write another record with Kurt, because he smokes two packs of cigarettes a day, and heís claiming he's gonna sing even higher on the next album, and his range is already nothing right now. So we're just gonna break up the band at the end of this tour, because there's nowhere left to go.Ē Then they basically came up with the idea that they could just break up the band whenever, but do this record first and see what happens....
