Today the new Rolling Stone hits shelves -- it's the one with the full article on Tom Gabel's recent news. Seeing as it's the first issue of the magazine I've actively wanted to seek out in years ... I figured I wouldn't be the only one. So, with that I'm opening up a thread here on the homepage for people that have picked up the magazine to talk about it, share thoughts, insights, and whatnot. As soon as I can get my ass to the store, I'll be joining in with my thoughts.
It has just come to our attention that Rolling Stone will be publishing an article on May 24th detailing how Tom Gabel, frontman and lead singer to Against Me! will be undergoing a sex change. This is literally breaking right now, so give me a second as I put together the facts and update this post with the information that comes in.
Update:Gabel says his new name will be Laura Jane Grace. He says he's not attracted to men and will still be married to his wife. They have a 2-year-old daughter.
Update #2: Some pictures of the upcoming article are online, check them out here. The full article is in the May 24th issue of the magazine.
The Black Keys will be on the cover of the next issue of Rolling Stone. And they're not pulling punches. In a recently released excerpt, found here, the band takes direct aim at Nickeback. Personally, I love seeing this kind of honesty from artists. Plus, it always helps when the punching bag deserves it.
You can check out Childish Gambino's stripped down performance of 3 songs off his upcoming album Camp (as well as an interview) over at Rolling Stone. You can also check out my freshly printed review of the album here as well.
