On August 3, 2004, a little-known band by the name of Say Anything released an album some of you may have heard of by the name ...Is a Real Boy.

The album was subject to phenomenal hype and even greater reviews, and garnered the relatively-unknown Max Bemis a ton of exposure. Bemis's craft of love, insanity, and anger put him in the spotlight of the punk/emo scene and some mainstream success (Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly, MTV). Fresh off of a rerelease that marked the launch of the single "Alive With the Glory of Love," Say Anything was given generous play on college radio stations across the country and mtvU.

The rerelease came with a bonus CD of b-sides, one of them...

Below is an update from Gunz regarding the Say Anything post from yesterday.
Message From GunzThis is Gunz, the host of The Gunz Show, on Idobi Radio. A correction to an earlier news post: Coby from Say Anything said on my show that the follow-up album, In Defense of the Genre, COULD very well come out much sooner than the winter timeframe (late 07/early 08) as was earlier reproted. So let not your heart be troubled people -- the bottom line is we will have a new Say Anything album and that means new Say Anything songs and, to me, that's pretty much heaven.

New names for Give It A Name Festival in London now include: The Pink Spiders, From First to Last, Say Anything, Kevin Devine, and there are rumors of a certain band recording a CD in London that will play their first UK show dates after a certain band member's illness caused them to pull out of a few tours. Who could that be?
