On the Self Promotion Forum this week, one can find the lovely Time Travels. Initially Frank McGinnis' solo act, the group recently expanded to a full band, and are all the better for it. The band have a incredibly pleasant indie-folk sound which could easily translate both to the hipster set and mainstream radio. Chords for Cures is a Philadelphia-based nonprofit that books concerts, with all proceeds benefiting children's charities in and around the Philadelphia area. Kids With Torches is a self-described "sophisti-pop" band from the southeastern edge of the United Kingdom that employs cinematic, electro-indie elements. The band has just released their seven song EP Carried Over Trees and hot damn if it isn't something. Each of the seven songs are pensive, wholly consuming, and undeniably gorgeous.
