This week on the Self Promotion Forum, I came across an independent record label called Enjoyment Records. The label is based in the UK and puts out releases from wonderful bands who are just under the radar, such as Indian Taker, Things Fall Apart and Nai Harvest. Despite the incredible eclecticism of its releases, every band they deal with is highly skilled at their trade and this is certainly a label to collect every record from. Whether you're a fan of super heavy stuff or an emo kid, Enjoyment Records is obliging. To get a taste, check out their free sampler here. Interested in being a part of the Self-Promotion Spotlight? In the spirit of the holiday season and in light of the the recent tragedy in Newtown, CT, this week's Self Promotion Spotlight does not highlight a band, but rather a cause. The company, which recently came off a three-year hiatus, has its first concert in four years on Dec. 21. For more information about the show, visit the Facebook page. Today's edition of the Self-Promotion Spotlight features Like Fires, a jittery indie-rock quintet from Shrewsbury, United Kingdom. Though the band only has one song up for download at present, they are readying a release later this year. Kids With Torches is a self-described "sophisti-pop" band from the southeastern edge of the United Kingdom that employs cinematic, electro-indie elements.
