Kjartan Sveinsson has left Sigur Rós permanently. The band revealed the news today during their AMA on Reddit. On a positive note, the band stated that their new album would be "more aggressive" this time around. You can watch a tour teaser that features some new music in the replies.

John Mayer coasts at the top of the charts again this week, moving almost 68,000 additional copies of Born and Raised - a 71 percent decline from his meteoric sales last week. Adele and One Direction come in after Mayer, while Regina Spektor and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros see the two highest debuts at No. 4 (38,000) and No. 6 (29,000), respectively. Sigur Ros also saw an excellent debut week, cracking the top 10 and No. 9 with 24,000 copies of Valtari. Equally as awesome, fun. saw a huge rise in sales, increasing 57 percent and selling another 17,000 copies of Some Nights - perhaps partially in thanks to the awesome music video they came out with.
Multi-instrumentalist Kjartan Sveinsson has pulled out of Sigur Ros' world tour, but has not quit the band. He will be replaced on the group's upcoming tour by Ólafur Björn Ólafsson on keyboard and oboe, and Kjartan Dagur Hólm - younger brother of bassist Georg Hólm and member of For A Minor Reflection - on guitar. Sigur Ros will release Valtari on May 28.
Sigur Ros released the official video for "Eg Anda" today, produced by a filmmaker outside of the band. This was done to bypass the usual artistic approval process and allow the filmmaker utmost creative freedom.
New Order has been announced a another headliner for this year's Bestival. They join other headliners, Sigur Rós, as well as many others great acts on the line up which can be checked out here.

Sigur Ros have posted their new single, "Hljomalind," on their myspace page. The song is from Hvarf-Heim, a double album of unreleased songs that will be available on November 5.
