Since we are sponsoring the Mark Rose (formerly of Spitalfield) and Empires tour, it's time to post a little reminder. If you'd like to win guest list spots to your date of the tour, jump into the tour contest.
Spitalfield has put up a Farewell Merch Store with items from their US and UK farewell dates. None of the items will be re-pressed, and some of them are very limited. This will be the last chance to purchase merch from the band.
Spitalfield's last show ever will be this Sunday night at The Metro in Chicago. The openers include The Audition, The Forecast, Holy Roman Empire, Bear Dog and a very special guest. Doors open at 5 pm, you can purchase the tickets here. Who do you think the "very special guest" will be?
Update: The chat is over. We at AP.net would like to thank the band for taking the time out of their busy schedule to do this. We really appreciate it and wish them the best in their future endeavors.
Spitalfield will be chatting in this thread under the names markalfield, JDfields, TJFielder and JonathanDTEA starting at approximately 10 p.m. EST. Come in, talk to the guys about their farewell tour, ask them whatever questions you have, or just give a quick hello.
Watch Spitalfield play "I Loved The Way She Said L.A." as an encore at their last hometown show in Glen Ellyn, IL on Nov. 9th in the replies. Also in the video, the band did a Q&A before the song and answered the question "why the hell are you breaking up?"
Spitalfield will be chatting tomorrow live on AP.net starting at 10 p.m. EST. Remember, they are on their farewell tour so stop by and relive all of your favorite Spitalfield memories, ask them whatever questions you have, and say goodbye if you're not going to make it out to any of the shows. Tonight, from 7-8 p.m. CST, Spitalfield will be on the air at 89.1FM (WONC) talking about the farwell tour, the break-up & the future. You can tune in for a live stream at WONC.ORG. The band will also be giving a way a few pairs of tickets for the last Chicago suburbs show (11/9 at College of DuPage).
Don't forget that tomorrow is the last day to enter the Spitalfield Farewell Tour contest for your chance to win Mark Rose's guitar as well as CDs, posters, tickets, backstage passes and more. Go here for info on how to enter.
Spitalfield will be embarking on their farewell tour in a couple of weeks and to go along with that, AP.net and Spitalfield are teaming up to bring you a contest where one lucky winner can win Mark's Fender® Standard Series Telecaster® guitar, the entire Spitalfield discography, an autographed poster, and two tickets/backstage passes to any show of their choosing on the tour. We've just posted an ABSOLUTExclusive Sampler for Immortal Records on the label's AP Profile. The sampler features new music from favorites Scary Kids Scaring Kids, Hot Rod Circuit, and A Change of Pace, as well as up and comers Tyler Read and The Escape Frame, and tracks from Yo! Indie Rock Raps and A Santa Cause 2 by Say Anything and Spitalfield respectively.
I have posted my very informative interview with Spitalfield. Mark touches on a lot of important topics surrounding the band and their latest release. Check it out here. I also recently talked with Four Letter Lie, you can view that by clicking here.
I have another interview coming your way - Please leave any questions you may have for Spitalfield in the replies. Also, I wanted to let you know that I will be reviewing hardcore, metal and other albums of the like in the near future. Look for new reviews for Dead To Fall, Nights Like These, Four Letter Lie, The Number 12 Looks Like You, Daughters, These Arms Are Snakes, Young Widows, Slayer, Comets On Fire and many more in the up and coming weeks. Are there any other albums you would like to see me review? Please let me know.
Seeing as Spitalfield's new album, Better Than Knowing Where You Are, is less than a month away from release (the album hit shelves on October 3rd), it's about that time to get an interview out of them. So if you have any questions you'd like to ask the band, please post them in the replies.
Spitalfield is currently finishing up vocals for their third full length album, which is scheduled for an October 3rd release through Victory Records. The band has also confirmed the following tour dates for this summer:
Spitalfield headed up to Smart Studios in Madison, Wisconsin this past weekend to begin tracking for their upcoming (yet to be titled) record, which is scheduled for an October 3rd release through Victory Records.
I had a chance to check out the With Honor, Stretch Arm Strong, Spitalfield and Silverstein show at the Metro here in Chicago. I haven't seen Spitalfield in almost two years and after seeing them tonight I'm counting down the days until they are back in Chicago. Once again, I am confused as to why this band is so underrated. They put on a great show, amazing guitar players, tons of energy and the vocals are ALWAYS dead on. This is the first time I've seen them play with the "new" TJ and as expected he brings a ton of energy to his live show. If any of the remaining stops are around you, make sure you check this tour out. Dan Lowder has something very serious to say about "snake bites,"...
Spitalfield will be playing an acoustic show today (Friday, December 16th) at Top 5 Records in Tampa, FL. The show is at 5:30 and is located at 1300 S. Dale Mabry Highway. The band also has some new merch.
