As frontman of The Movielife and I Am the Avalanche, Vinnie Caruana has been involved in the music scene for more than 15 years now. After all that time, he will release his debut solo EP, City by the Sea, on February 5th via I Surrender/Run For Cover Records. You can stream a new track from the effort, "Boy, You're In Heaven," on his AP.net profile. It's an acoustic number that incorporates hand claps, violin and keyboard. Pre-order the EP on CD or vinyl.

After years of fronting popular indie punk act I Am The Avalanche and formerly hardcore punk band The Movielife, accomplished New York songwriter Vinnie Caruana is announcing plans to release his debut solo EP out early 2013 on I Surrender / Run For Cover Records. Between writing the new album for his full-time project I Am The Avalanche, Caruana has recently entered the studio with RX Bandits member Steve Choi at Bright Mountain studios in California where he'll remain until October 27th.

Vinnie Caruana played a new I Am The Avalanche song at the recent Barbary show in Philadelphia. He said it "may be" on the new record before playing the song, then said that the new album is too up tempo for this song. Head to the replies to see a video. Vinnie also asked the crowd if anyone would be seeing their The Movielife show next month in May and that there "may be" more shows after that. Kenny Vasoli also played a new The Starting Line song and Brandon Reilly played a new Nightmare of You song.

In a new interview, Vinnie Caruana confirms that I Am The Avalanche are working with "50 songs" and are aiming at a summer/fall release. He also comments on Brandon Reilly's willingness to reunite The Movielife for Bamboozle and solo shows.
