This Wednesday at 7 PM EST, manager extraordinaire Randy Nichols will be chatting on AP.net. As the manager for The Starting Line, The Almost, Aaron Sprinkle, UnderOath, Person L and more, he has seen quite a bit of the music business. We thought this would be a great opportunity for young bands to learn what makes a good manager, what makes a bad one, and for aspiring managers to better understand what it means to manage a band. So make sure to check back here on Wednesday at 7 PM EST.

Do you think The Starting Line's Based on A True Story is a sophomore slump or comeback of the year? We've pitted two staff members against each other to debate its merits on whether it will live on as a worthy successor or fall into the dreaded sophomore slump category. Read the justification for each in the replies and feel free to post your own thoughts.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is so on, as a writer from the Philadelphia Weekly whines on, responding to The Starting Line fans whining about Philadelphia Weekly's negative portrayal of the band.
From the ArticleAnd naturally, the moronic, nutjob wing of the Starting Line fanbase has taken to the comments section of Bill’s piece (and over at absolutepunk) to cry about the fact that Bill “disrespected” the Starting Line (booo hooooooo). Or to advocate physical violence against Bill because he doesn’t like the band they like. Or to demand PW fire Bill for articulating his opinion. Dumb. And most of them doing so anonymously, of course. At least Kenny Vasoli isn’t afraid of attaching his name...

From the InterviewI have some ideas; I know Kenny has a ton of ideas which is really interesting. I think we just have to get in a room and see if the chemistry is still there. Each of us is open to it at the right time.

The Starting Line has posted a message regarding their upcoming holiday show and how it does not mean that they are getting back together and making a record in the near future.
Message From MattAs many of you know, we (The Starting Line) recently released our Live CD/DVD "Somebody's Gonna Miss Us". We all got together for the Release Party, and thought it would be fun to play a hometown holiday show this year, which is exactly what we're going to do on 12/29 at the TLA in Philadelphia.

Just to be perfectly clear, this doesn't mean TSL are back together and are going to make a record. It simply means that we're taking a break from our break, and wanted to play a fun show in...
