After years of fronting popular indie punk act I Am The Avalanche and formerly hardcore punk band The Movielife, accomplished New York songwriter Vinnie Caruana is announcing plans to release his debut solo EP out early 2013 on I Surrender / Run For Cover Records. Between writing the new album for his full-time project I Am The Avalanche, Caruana has recently entered the studio with RX Bandits member Steve Choi at Bright Mountain studios in California where he'll remain until October 27th.

Pacific Ridge Records are asking for song suggestions for The Movielife tribute.
Message From The LabelI have some quality news. With the hard work and dedication of some terrific artists we're successfully knocking out the majority of The Movielife catalog. Unfortunately there are plenty of tremendous songs left uncovered. Obviously I'm aiming to correct that travesty but I need some help in doing so.

Below is a list of songs that have not been selected, and in my opinion are absolutely vital if the compilation is to live up to expectations:

Champ
Racer
Operate
Another Friend
Me and You Vs. Them
Scary
Sailor Tattoos
Barefoot
Speed Demon
Read My Lips
Maybe It's Nothing
Except Me

Pacific Ridge Records has started a kickstarter to fund a tribute compilation to The Movielife.
From the ArticleI want to make it crystal clear that this compilation will be released whether this Kickstarter succeeds or not. If the Kickstarter is a success it simply means that there will be an additional three or four artists added to the project, more of your favorite Movielife songs will be covered and most importantly it means that the album will be released this Fall as opposed to 2013. The entirety of the backing of this Kickstarter will go to properly compensate the artists that are contributing their talents.

Miss The Movielife's final show tonight? Me too. Sounds like it is a great one too. Brand New's opening (adding to my jealousy of those there). Here's to one of my favorite bands growing up ... I'm breaking out the old tunes for you.

In a new interview, Evan from The Movielife discusses the possibility of playing more reunion shows other than Bamboozle this weekend.
In This InterviewI would say that based upon how positive this has been, and we’ll see how it goes on the one show, we’re open to anything. There’s nothing set and nothing specific, but if this goes well, and so far it has, I wouldn’t say it’s a definite, but probably more of a possibility than not a possibility.

He said it "may be" on the new record before playing the song, then said that the new album is too up tempo for this song. Head to the replies to see a video.
